Atlanta Falcon, Daniel Brunskill, visits our school.
Glen Ullin School had a visitor on Wednesday, January 24. A player from the Atlanta Falcons #76, by the name of Daniel Brunskill. Daniel is the brother to the Kindergarten teacher here at Glen Ullin School. Brunskill was a walk on at San Diego State with a degree in Civil Engineering. Brunskill, spent time in the Kindergarten classroom most of the day and visited with both elementary and high school students throughout the day. Daniel’s message to the students stated, “It doesn’t matter if you are an athlete, in theatre, or in band. If you want to succeed, it starts with your grades.” Daniel explained that if he didn’t have the grades to be on the field, he never would have been looked at in high school or college.
To be where he is today, Brunskill had to work hard both on and off the field, “get the degree and don’t give up.” Daniel also mentioned that there are many opportunities for scholarships, it doesn’t have to be specific for athletes, band or theatre. People would love to give scholarships away to students, you just have to want it and apply for it.
This was Daniel’s first season with the Atlanta Falcons and said it was an amazing experience. Daniel looks forward to starting up again in April.
